Michael Kim makes world ranking comment about Jon Rahm after finishing fourth at the Arnold Palmer Invitational

Michael Kim seems to be a man on a mission this year as he continued his fine start to 2025 by finishing fourth at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

Kim has been a revelation this season and has now recorded 5 top 15 finishes in his last five starts, including a second at the WM Open and this week’s fourth at Bay Hill.

Given Kim has only ever won one PGA Tour event – The John Deere Classic back in 2018 – his rise to the top of the leaderboards has been a surprise.

Of course, with good results on the PGA Tour comes a move up the OWGR as well.

Kim is now 52nd in the rankings, and after only just clinging onto his tour card last year, it will be a pleasing sight for the American.

Naturally, then, he’s revelling in his new success and has now – jokingly – claimed he is better than LIV Golf star, Jon Rahm.

Michael Kim is always good for a comment on social media and is one of the best when it comes to engaging with fans.

And now, after his excellent form continued in Florida, Kim has suggested he is now a better golfer than major winner, Jon Rahm.

Clearly meant as a bit of a joke, Kim did clarify his comments by adding:

“Can’t wait for the LIV bots. It’s obviously tongue in cheek everyone”

Nevertheless, on current form, Kim is right to put himself up with the greats of the current game and it surely won’t be long before win number two comes along if he carries on.

Why Michael Kim gave Bay Hill volunteer his golf ball in round three

Kim is very much turning into a star on the PGA Tour and he had plenty to save at Bay Hill about his performance and game in general.

However, one of the most interesting comments from Kim all weekend was his mini story about a course volunteer helping him on the 12th hole.

Kim revealed that the volunteer spoke to him before he holed out, which in turn led to Kim giving his ball away.

As big names like Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele and Rory McIlroy struggle for wins so far, Michael Kim will feel he very much has a chance of success in the coming months if he can maintain his form.
