Nelly Korda has been the world’s best for some time now, with her talent on the course there for all to see.
The American sits at the very top of the women’s world rankings, and will be keen to bolster her major count this week.
The 25-year-old has two major titles to her name so far, but the elusive US Women’s Open is yet to go her way.
And despite six wins already this season, Korda’s wait for that trophy looks certain to go on after a nightmare opening round.
She ended the first round at Lancaster Country Club on 10-over, leaving her tied for 137th in the leaderboard.

Megan Khang reveals Nelly Korda’s caddie discussion
A shocking 10 shots on the par-three 12th was the primary reason behind her struggles on day one in Pennsylvania.
Her close friend and fellow pro Megan Khang – who played the first round alongside Korda – has now revealed what caddie Jason McDede said to the world number one after her issues on the course.
“Overheard Jason just telling her ‘Hey, c’mon, you can come back from this,’, said Khang, as per MSN. “They’re a great team together.”

Like Korda, Khang also struggled on the course, with the American now tied for 70th after carding a five-over 75.
It was, however, world number one Korda who dominated the headlines on day one after her nightmare showing, which left a lot of golf fans completely stunned.
Whether or not she can produce an unforgettable comeback remains to be seen, although it would be foolish to put it past the world’s best women’s golfer.
She can take confidence from the three opening round birdies, but her scorecard was badly blemished by six bogies, and of course the septuple-bogey on the 12th.
Fellow American Rose Zhang meanwhile was tipped by golf writer Beth Ann Nichols to rival Korda for the trophy, but she posted a very disappointing nine-over 79.
