Max Homa is attempting to win the Procore Championship for the third time this week.
Homa first won the tournament in 2021 and defended his title a year later, finishing one stroke ahead of Danny Willett.
The event has always had a few top players, but the field this time is stronger than ever before.
That’s because it’s two weeks before the 2025 Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black, so the United States team are using it to prepare.
Homa has shared how he feels about competing against the US players at the Silverado Resort.

Max Homa shares thoughts on the USA team playing at the Procore Championship
Max Homa was the United States’ best player at the 2023 Ryder Cup, and he would have loved to play at Bethpage.
Unfortunately, his form was nowhere near good enough this season to make Bradley’s team, and he will have to watch on like everyone else.
Homa admitted in his press conference before the Procore Championship that he’s not motivated by having the US team at the event.
“No part of that is motivational. It’s very cool. I love this event. Had a partnership with Fortinet for a while, and the fact that they helped host this event was really great, and then that was kind of like a last-minute exit.
“So, to have Procore, what they did last year, and then obviously staying on this year, it’s kind of like karma for them. They kind of took a shot at it last year, and now all of a sudden they have 10 of the best Americans in the world, best players in the world.
“Some of these events in the fall, which is understandable, the fields are deep but not top heavy, but they’re really great events. Like the Sanderson Farms event, I’ve loved. This obviously is way up on my list. But they don’t necessarily get like the Scottie Schefflers of the world. So I think it’s really cool.
“I know the first year I won here, I played with [Jon] Rahm when he was No. 1 in the world, I thought that was neat. I think it was right before the Ryder Cup. Yeah, it’s not motivational, but I find it quite cool for the event and whoever comes out.
“It’s always a little sleepier than a typical West Coast tournament, but you’re going to get like a front row seat to see one of the best golfers you’ll ever see in your life, so I think that’s awesome.”

Who is Max Homa playing with at the Procore Championship?
Max Homa is playing alongside two other American players who will be disappointed not to be at the Ryder Cup this month
Homa teed off with Akshay Bhatia and Maverick McNealy at 10:55 a.m. (ET) on Thursday and will go out at 4 p.m. (ET) on Friday.
McNealy, who finished second to Homa at the 2021 Procore Championship, was arguably the biggest snub from the US Ryder Cup.
Bhatia was only 19th on the qualification standings, so it was no surprise that he did not make the cut.
