Max Homa is among the surprise selections from captain Jim Furyk for the 2024 US Presidents Cup team.
Michael Block says Homa has a great personality, with that personality now needed to help the US Team successfully defend their Presidents Cup title.
Scottie Scheffler wants to win the Presidents Cup, a tournament that the US Team has dominated over the years.
The US Team defeated the International Team at the 2022 Presidents Cup 17.5-12.5 to secure their ninth consecutive victory.
World number one Scheffler qualified for the event after the BMW Championship, along with Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa, Wyndham Clark, Patrick Cantlay and Sahith Theegala.

And the US Team is now complete after Furyk finalised his six captain’s picks, with the skipper choosing those immediately next in the points standings.
And among those picks was Homa, who has taken to social media to share his reaction, saying on X: “So honored and excited to be playing for Team USA in this year’s Presidents Cup.
“There is nothing quite like these events, and playing alongside my teammates is something I always cherish. I feel fortunate for the opportunity and look forward to the challenge.”

US Team captain Furyk certainly didn’t stray very far from the highest points earners from the two-year window.
Along with Homa, Sam Burns, Tony Finau, Russell Henley, Keegan Bradley and Brian Harman have all made the cut.
Keegan Bradley had already been scheduled to be Furyk’s assistant captain, but the new Ryder Cup captain will now be playing at the event.
He impressed in the FedExCup Playoffs, finishing T21 at the Tour Championship after winning the BMW Championship, with Homa failing to make the final event.
Furyk is certain to have upset many American players with his decision, with the likes of Akshay Bhatia, Billy Horschel and Justin Thomas among those missing out.
