Matt Kuchar has started his FedEx Cup Fall in fine fashion after making the cut at the Procore Championship.

Kuchar now boasts 399 PGA Tour cuts in his career, going into the final round of the Procore Championship T12.

That is the same position the 46-year-old finished in his last event, when Kuchar angered fans with his late finish at the Wyndham Championship.

The American is now in Napa, California for the current PGA Tour competition, entering the Sunday on 10 under.

His compatriot Patton Kizzire leads the way on 18 under, with fellow American David Lipsky four shots behind in second.

Matt Kuchar makes veteran claim after making Procore Championship cut

Kuchar is certainly one of the more experienced players in the field, having joined the PGA Tour back in 2001.

As per the PGA Tour on X, he has now shared his verdict on that longevity, saying: “I know I’m 46, but I don’t see myself as a veteran. I still see myself as a young kid that’s excited to go play.”

Matt Kuchar shortlisted for Ryder Cup captaincy

Kuchar has now made 399 cuts from his 557 PGA Tour events, with nine career victories going his way so far.

This year has, however, been one of the more challenging seasons for the 46-year-old, with just nine of 20 cuts made.

Just one top-10 finish has been secured, with the American finishing T3 at the 3M Open in July, shortly before his Wyndham Championship drama.

But he remains one of the most experienced players on the tour, with Kuchar considered for the Ryder Cup captaincy.

His compatriot Keegan Bradley has instead been handed the honour of leading Team USA at Bethpage Black next year.
