Ludvig Aberg has once again put himself in contention to win a big golf tournament as he sits just a few shots behind leader, Adam Scott.

The Swedish sensation has been one of the standout stories on the PGA Tour this season and is fully expected to go on and win majors.

Aberg finished second in his debut at the Masters and but for the brilliance of Scottie Scheffler, might well have walked away with the green jacket.

Still, Aberg has had a big 2024 overall and after shooting a stunning nine-under of 63 in his second round at the BMW, he’s well in contention.

The course has drawn plenty of attention due to the altitude but Aberg has been handling it well and while Rory McIlroy throws his clubs about and annoys golf fans, Aberg is cruising along nicely.

Ludvig Aberg gives his verdict on Castle Pines after round two of the BMW

Speaking to the press after his excellent second round, Aberg was asked how he felt about the course given McIlroy’s struggles and others going so low.

And as expected, Aberg admitted he was happy enough with how things were on course.

“Yeah, I think so. It’s a testament to a really good golf course, I think. If you play well and you hit the shots, you get rewarded.

“But as soon as you start missing fairways it gets really tricky. The rough is up, and all of a sudden you’re playing away from the pins that you can be a little bit more aggressive with from the fairway.

“But yeah, I can definitely say it’s a great golf course. It’s very true, and it’s very fair.”

Aberg is behind only Keegan Bradley and Adam Scott at the moment and will go out alongside fellow Swede Alex Noren on Saturday.

Should Aberg reel in Scott and win, he’ll head to the Tour Championship at East Lake very much in contention to compete with Scottie Scheffler and Xander Schauffele.
