While this time of year represents the off-season for most golfers, certain LIV Golf players are still playing in tournaments all around the world.

With LIV Golf still not able to offer world ranking points, some of their players have to play on different tours throughout the year, just to maintain a respectable position in the world rankings.

In fact, that is the main reason why LIV Golf are really struggling to make signings right now.

The players who are driven by money have already joined LIV from the PGA Tour and no golfer with any genuine ambition would be open to moving to the Saudi-backed outfit.

What PGA Tour players do you believe LIV Golf can realistically sign before the 2026 season?

LIV could have doubled that figure ($150 million) and the answer would have still been ‘no’.

The lack of world ranking points and being potentially frozen out of the major championships wasn’t worth it.

LIV will still be pushing to make signings from the PGA Tour this winter, but as things stand, the outlook seems bleak for them.

The one thing in their favour is that they do have some huge names already amongst their ranks, as well as some proven winners who have never been in the superstar category.

In fact, LIV could do with more golfers like that, so that their fields are more competitive every week.

Marc Leishman wins 15th career title in Australia

LIV golfer Marc Leishman teed it up on the PGA Tour of Australasia on Thursday at the Victorian PGA Championship.

Moonah Links in Victoria was the venue and the final round really was a case of survival of the fittest.

Leishman began his week by carding a round of even-par before posting scores of 67 and 68 to lead heading into Sunday on nine-under-par.

However, by the time Sunday afternoon rolled around, the weather had switched, with the wind swirling around Moonah Links.

Leishman struggled throughout his final round, as everyone else did on the golf course.

He posted a score of 76, one that featured SEVEN bogeys, three birdies and eight pars.

The best score on day four at Moonah Links was a 70 while three golfers failed to break 80.

Leishman did just about enough in the end, getting the better of Josh Younger by a solitary stroke.

Huge world rankings jump for Marc Leishman

The decision to play in the Victorian PGA Championship certainly worked out well for the 42-year-old Australian.

He made a huge jump in the Official World Golf Ranking.

What would the impact of Brooks Koepka leaving LIV Golf be?

Leishman entered the week in 273rd position in the rankings but he left Moonah Links having climbed up to 228th.

That 45-place climb will give the Australian huge confidence ahead of the new season.

He will obviously be hoping that LIV’s application for world ranking points ends up being successful.

But if it isn’t, Leishman will have to continue playing on different tours if he is to remain anywhere near the top 100 in the world.
