Jon Rahm is looking to end his 2024 LIV Golf season on a high and win the league’s Individual Championship in Chicago.

Rahm, who is one of the highest-paid golfers of all time, will lift the title at Bolingbrook Golf Club if he can match Joaquin Niemann’s score.

The Chilean is Rahm’s only challenger after enjoying a hot start to the LIV season. Rahm believes a win is required if he’s to prevent Niemann from landing the individual crown.

There have been several eye-catching for Rahm during his debut season on LIV, and the Spaniard has been asked to name his best 18 holes ahead of LIV Golf Chicago this weekend.

Rahm secured his first LIV Golf win at JCB Golf and Country Club after edging out his Legion XIII teammate Tyrrell Hatton in Uttoxeter.

The Spaniard was particularly blown away by his eight-under-par first round, which saw him initially take control of the tournament.

“Mine, it has to be that 8-under at JCB,” Rahm said during his press conference in Chicago. “I didn’t expect to see a score that low on that course, to be honest, and to do it myself, I was surprised.

“There have been stretches — I think it was the second round at Greenbrier. I was ten under, eight under on the last ten holes. That stretch of golf was pretty good.

“But if I had to go based on those 18 holes, yeah, I think that opening round at JCB was probably my best for the year.”

Jon Rahm should end LIV Golf season with historic title

Rahm’s form during his debut season on LIV has been impressive. The Spaniard hasn’t finished outside the top ten and has contented in pretty much every single event.

Given his dominance, the two-time major winner getting the job done at Bolingbrook would be fitting.

The Individual Championship isn’t the end for Rahm, however. Next week, the team event will take centre stage in Dallas. Rahm’s Legion XIII are currently second in the standings, 0.50 points behind Bryson DeChambeau’s Crushers.

With Rahm and Hatton playing well, the Spaniard stands an excellent chance of ending the LIV season with two titles to his name.
