Jon Rahm is looking to end his debut LIV Golf season on a high and claim the Individual Championship in Chicago this weekend.
Since turning his back on the PGA Tour, the Spaniard has had a whirlwind 2024. Rahm has already been linked with a LIV Golf exit, rumours that Greg Norman emphatically shut down.
Off-the-course talk hasn’t impacted the two-time major winner, however. Rahm hasn’t finished outside the top ten and claimed his first LIV Golf victory at JCB in July.
The 29-year-old is now primed to claim the Individual Championship at Bolingbrook Golf Club, provided he matches Joaquin Niemann’s score.
Jon Rahm eyes LIV Golf win in Chicago

Speaking ahead of the individual finale, Rahm admitted that a win is required in order to prevent Niemann from claiming the title.
“I’m probably going to need to win,” Rahm told LIV Golf’s website.
“He’s going to be up there,” Rahm added. “I’m going to need another good week.”
Jon Rahm must match Joaquin Niemann’s performance at LIV Golf Chicago
Rahm’s task is relatively simple this week. If he continues to perform at his current level, Niemann will probably need a win to stand any chance of success.
The Chilean finished 15th at LIV Golf Greenbrier, allowing Rahm the upper hand heading into this weekend’s season finale.
The Spaniard has consistently finished in the top ten throughout the 2024 season, meaning the emphasis is firmly on Niemann to make a move in Chicago. Rahm is in a position to monitor the scoreboard closely and make a move if necessary.
During the opening round, Rahm playing conservatively and keeping himself out of severe danger could well be on the cards.
