It is imperative that LIV Golf players have a better year in the majors in 2026 after failing to make too much of an impact in the four biggest events this year.
There were some high points in 2025. Bryson DeChambeau was in the final group on Sunday at The Masters, while Jon Rahm took the lead on the back nine of the final round at the PGA Championship.

However, it is fair to say that it was an underwhelming year for those on LIV.
Nevertheless, one player in their league has been backed to have a fantastic 2026 season – with several wins along the way.
LIV Golf star backed to win several times in 2026
LIV unquestionably have great strength at the top of their standings. While there is speculation over the future of Brooks Koepka, the likes of Rahm, DeChambeau, and Joaquin Niemann will be expected to make an impact in the majors in 2026.
And it seems that one of the trio is being tipped to have comfortably their best year since arriving on LIV.
Speaking on 5 Clubs, Ryan Lavner suggested that Rahm could be the biggest beneficiary of a significant change LIV has announced ahead of the upcoming season.
“I think Jon Rahm is going to have a monster 2026. He is back to being an elite player off the tee. He was back in 2025 to being in the mix at the major championships, I know he had a back nine to forget at Quail Hollow at the PGA Championship,” he said.
“I really do believe – and there’s been a lot of talk about the move on LIV Golf from 54 to 72 holes – I think that is exactly the elixir that Jon Rahm needs. That is the cadence he is used to playing professional golf.
“I think the results are going to follow. It would not surprise me at all if he picks off three or four wins on LIV, parlays into a very successful major championship season. It hasn’t just been Jon Rahm not winning majors since the move to LIV, he hasn’t really been winning anything, period.
“But I saw enough statistically, the improvement, getting his feet under him and what LIV is going to be about, and the cadence of his schedule that way. I think Jon Rahm is going to be back to being a top three, top five player in the world in 2026.”

Rahm’s form since joining LIV has been particularly perplexing. Clearly, winning the individual title in both seasons vindicates the league’s decision to pay huge money to sign him in the first place.
He also had two top 10s in the majors, with his worst finish being tied for 34th.
However, as Lavner notes, the Spaniard is one of the best players on the planet. On his day, he is as good as Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy. There should be no question.
So when you take those same statistics and reflect that he did not win in 2025 and did not finish higher than seventh in the majors, the verdict should be that it is simply not good enough.
It feels important, therefore, that he proves a point in 2026 with some likely to single out his LIV move as a key reason why he has not kept up with Scheffler.
