LIV Golf have announced their latest signing for the 2025 season and it’s a fair bet to say it wasn’t one anyone saw coming.
With just the Fireballs GC to fill up their roster spots for 2025, all eyes have been on Sergio Garcia’s outfit to see just who got the call.
After rumours over Tony Finau joining LIV went quiet a few weeks back, there’s been plenty of other rumours surrounding new LIV Golf stars. Indeed, Northern Irishman Tom McKibbin is believed to be joining LIV despite earning a PGA Tour card.
However, McKibbin will join Legion XIII with Jon Rahm, meaning the final spot on Fireballs has remained open.
Until now.

Fireballs GC to sign Luis Masaveu for 2025 LIV Golf season
Confirmed by the Fireballs social media account on X, the LIV outfit have now moved to sign young Spanish star, Luis Masaveu.
Masaveu, 22, is far from the stellar name many predicted would join LIV or the Fireballs this off-season, although he does complete the all-Spanish feel for the team.
Luis Masaveu matched Jon Rahm at the 2024 US Amateur Championship
While Masaveu is a relative unknown, he has had some good performances over the last two years and even managed to get himself into The Open at Royal Troon.
Masaveu did make the cut but in the end, faltered in the treacherous conditions to finish at 18 over par for the tournament.
However, he fared much better in the US Amateur back in August.
Masaveu made it to the semi-finals of the tournament before coming up against good friend and fellow Spaniard Jose Luis Ballester.
However, in making the quarter-finals, he became only the second Spaniard since Jon Rahm (Ballester was the other) to advance to the quarter-final stage of the event.
When presented with that fact at the time, Masaveu admitted to being proud of matching Rahm and Ballester.
“I mean, it’s awesome because Jose is a good friend to me. It’s awesome that we both passed. I
would love to play him in the semi-finals so we can have a finalist that’s Spanish. Yeah, I’m very proud of myself to be the second one, so pretty happy,” he said at the time.
Coincidentally, Rahm actually went out at the quarter-final stage, meaning Masaveu actually usurped the two-time major winner.
