If there was any doubt left, Nelly Korda put the player of the year debate to bed last week as she clinched The ANNIKA for a seventh win of the season.
Nelly Korda appeared to be out of contention on Sunday at The ANNIKA after making two bogeys on her front nine in the final round at Pelican Golf Club. However, the 26-year-old turned things around completely on the back nine; making five birdies in a row to go on and win by three.
Korda is undoubtedly one of the biggest stars across the entire golfing landscape. And the plaudits are not only coming in because of the results she has got across 2024, but also because of the quality of her golf swing.
Jerry Foltz disagrees with comment made about Nelly Korda’s golf swing
Hank Haney recently claimed that Korda has the best swing in golf right now – better than any of the swings on the PGA Tour. And of course, Haney was the man who worked closely with Tiger Woods between 2004 and 2010, so it says something that he has such high praise for Korda’s swing.
But speaking on Fairway to Heaven, LIV commentator Jerry Foltz has suggested that it is another LPGA great who has an even better swing.

“Love, love, love Nelly, but that is not even close to being true. It’s a great golf swing, don’t get me wrong, but no. No, no, no,” he said.
“Mickey Wright; even Ben Hogan has said, and of all people, he who hates LIV but a good friend of mine Brandel Chamblee, who is a huge swing nerd; almost all feel that Mickey Wright probably had the best swing in golf. But currently, modern swings, it certainly is one of the best.”
Who was Mickey Wright
Mickey Wright was one of the most successful golfers of all-time. Despite retiring from full-time golf at the age of just 34, she still managed to win 13 majors. Only Patty Berg managed to win more. Remarkably, all of Wright’s major wins came between 1958 and 1966.
Meanwhile, she is also second on the list for most wins on the LPGA with 82 – 10 ahead of Annika Sorenstam. Kathy Whitworth tops the list with 85.
Given the importance Ben Hogan had on defining what the golf swing could be, it says a lot that he picked out Wright’s swing as the best he had ever seen.
But the fact that Korda is already in the conversation in the eyes of some is telling. She is well on her way to becoming a Hall of Famer on the LPGA and establishing herself as one of the all-time greats – perhaps she has even hit the peak of her powers.
