Lee Westwood has shed light on changes he’s made to his putting stroke after struggling during the early part of the LIV Golf season.

Speaking after his third-place finish in Nashville, Westwood lauded his work on the greens after carding rounds of 69, 66 and 66.

The Englishman has since placed 12th in Andalucia and looks to be in good form ahead of this week’s ever-popular LIV Golf UK event at JCB.

Speaking during his pre-tournament press conference on Wednesday, Westwood claimed he’d gone back to basics with the flat stick.

“Just some things I’ve been working on in the past,” he explained. “Having my hands a little bit higher and heel off the ground.”

Westwood added: “Valderrama is strange. I’ve played it that often and some of the greens I am more familiar with. I could almost walk up to a putt and hit it.

“I think my routine has improved a little bit. Spending less time over the ball, letting it flow, and not thinking about it too much. That’s the secret to good putting, being very reactive.”

Unique JCB set to test LIV Golf stars this week

JCB Golf and Country Club is one of the more unique venues on the LIV schedule.

The Uttoxeter property is one of the most exclusive courses in the UK, but, amazingly, it doesn’t have any private members.

The venue is a marketing tool for JCB and is used regularly by companies looking to host golf days. Businesses can hold memberships, allowing them a certain number of rounds per year.

Furthermore, JCB employees can play the course for a reasonable rate on Sunday afternoons.

With thick rough, monstrous par-threes and sloped greens, LIV’s finest are set to be tested to the limit this week.
