Kris Kim has revealed how he’s been received by his fellow competitors after making the cut at The CJ Cup Byron Nelson.
Kim, 16, followed his first-round 68 with a 67 to move to seven under par in his first-ever PGA Tour event.
In an electric front nine, the English teenager birdied five holes and dropped just one shot. An even par back nine saw the youngster through to the weekend and two shots above the cut line.
At the top of the leaderboard, Matt Wallace sits one shot back of leader Jake Knapp (-14). Troy Merritt produced the most eye-catching round of the day, eagling the last to shoot a nine under 62.
How have PGA Tour players received Kris Kim at the Byron Nelson?

For the average PGA Tour professional, playing alongside a 16-year-old is a relatively rare occurrence.
Youngsters have broken through on tour before, but considering the number of players participating, being paired in the same group is unlikely.
Speaking after his round, Kim has shared how the rest of the field have been with him during his first appearance on tour.
He explained [footage via Ten Golf]: “Yeah, they’ve all been really nice to me. I have kind of been quiet and myself, but they’re all good guys out there.”
What’s the aim for Kris Kim heading into the weekend at the Byron Nelson?
The fact Kim has made it through to the weekend is an achievement in itself. He’s shown he’s more than capable of scoring quickly, and a continuation is surely his goal heading into Saturday and Sunday.
Right now, the leaders are too far ahead and with scoring at such a profound level, it would take something remarkable for the frontrunners to be hunted down from seven shots back.
He’s done the hard part; now, the English teen should enjoy his weekend playing in the Texas sun.
On his weekend aim, Kim said: “It [the aim] is to go as low as possible and have some fun out there. I’ve enjoyed it so much the last couple of days and being here two more makes it so much sweeter.”
