Keegan Bradley will face an almost impossible task at the end of this month when he makes his six captain’s picks for the Ryder Cup.

Not only does Bradley have a huge dilemma regarding whether or not he picks himself for the Ryder Cup, but he will also be leaving some seriously good players off the team, whoever he picks.

The good form of Cameron Young means Bradley now has yet another name to consider for the Ryder Cup team.

Meanwhile, it’s still very much up in the air as to whether the 39-year-old from Vermont will pick himself.

Bradley’s form has dipped ahead of the Ryder Cup, and he needs a win at one of the final two FedEx Cup Playoff events, if he is to qualify for the team.

Team Europe definitely seem to be more stable right now, with the top 10 or 11 players locks for Bethpage Black.

Meanwhile, there are around eight, or perhaps even 10, American players vying for the six captain’s picks.

The 39-year-old has to produce the goods over the next two weeks because qualifying for the US Ryder Cup team would take away one of his big dilemmas.

However, with his form dipping, he may well be looking at some of the Ryder Cup hopefuls sitting around 10-15th on the points list.

Bradley was asked about his own form ahead of the BMW Championship.

He said: I think for whatever reason, I’ve never played well at Memphis. My best finish there since 2011 is T45. It’s always a tough week for me. But things are definitely getting more difficult, but it is for everybody on the list of the Ryder Cup. This is when you really start to — you know, when you’re trying to get a pick or trying to play your way on the team, you feel like every round’s Q-School. It’s not just difficult for me; it’s difficult for everybody that’s trying to make this team.

I feel for them. I know what it’s like. I know people try to act like they’re okay, but they’re nervous every round, and that’s the way it should be.

The pressure is really cranking up now for Bradley himself and for those on the outside of the top 12 in the standings looking in, including the likes of Young, Chris Gotterup and Patrick Cantlay.

If Bradley picks himself, final Ryder Cup spot could be between Young or Gotterup

Gotterup and Young have both shown some fine form over the past month.

Young won at the Wyndham Championship two weeks ago while Gotterup triumphed over in Scotland before finishing third at The Open Championship.

Here are the two players’ stats from the PGA Tour season so far:

StatsGotterup’s rankYoung’s rank

So if Bradley picks himself, the final Ryder Cup spot may be a straight battle between Gotterup and Young, presuming that he selects Collin Morikawa, Justin Thomas, Ben Griffin and Patrick Cantlay.

As things stand, the smart money would be on Young, given his previous success at Bethpage Black but there is still a lot of golf to be played before Bradley has to name his Ryder Cup picks.
