Justin Thomas is back in action at this week’s ZOZO Championship, which is the two-time major winner’s first appearance since the 2024 Tour Championship at East Lake.
Thomas has been working on his game in Florida after finishing T14 in the season-ending finale in Atlanta.
There were certainly positive signs for the 31-year-old during the second half of the PGA Tour season. The American led The Open after the first round, and Thomas also produced a scintillating opening 18 at the Scottish Open.
Unfortunately, inconsistency has plagued the former PGA Championship winner. As a result, Thomas has been tinkering with his bag throughout the season.
The American tested a new putter at The Open, and now, Thomas has a new driver in the bag ahead of this week’s event at Accordia Golf Narashino Country Club.

Speaking during his press conference on Tuesday, Thomas was quizzed about his new Titleist GT driver, and the 31-year-old has liked what he’s seen so far.
“It’s been great. I have liked it and have had an opportunity at home to spend a little time fine-tuning and tweaking some stuff, messing with different shafts,” Thomas explained.
“I saw some good progress. It was more about learning certain tendencies, more so with my swing, something as little as how the ball is teed up.
“I have really, really liked the driver. I have seen some good consistency. I have been driving it well.”
Consistency key for Justin Thomas in 2025
The ZOZO Championship is a good chance for Thomas to finally put four good rounds together for the first time in two years.
During the regular 2024 season, a low score was followed up by an unusually high number, which saw Thomas’ chances of winning diminish very quickly.
With Scottie Scheffler set to dominate once more next season, those looking to jump back into the winners’ circle won’t have the capacity to make mistakes or post scores in the mid-70s.
Thomas’ game is certainly capable of matching the world’s best; it’s now about producing for an entire event and winning for the first time since the 2022 PGA Championship.
