Justin Thomas and Tommy Fleetwood played in the same group on all four days at The Open Championship.

In rounds one and two at Royal Portrush, the pair were joined by hometown hero Rory McIlroy.

Then, when the groups were reduced from three to two players each, Thomas and Fleetwood played together on both Saturday and Sunday.

After the tournament, Thomas sent a funny message to the Englishman on social media, having shared the course for four straight days.

Justin Thomas responds to Tommy Fleetwood on social media

Tommy Fleetwood posted on social media to applaud The Open for an excellent tournament, congratulate Scottie Scheffler, and joke with Justin Thomas.

“It’s no secret that I love The Open, the best tournament of the year!! Well done, R&A and The Open, for a great week in Portrush,” Fleetwood said.

“Congratulations to Scottie, you continue to have us all admire in awe. Thank you for all the support out there, it was special as always, and I really appreciate it!

“Justin Thomas, see you tomorrow.”

Thomas responded by saying that he won’t know what to do with himself on Monday after spending so much time with Fleetwood recently.

He tweeted: “Four days in a row at The Open just wasn’t enough… what do I do tomorrow??? I’ll be so confused not golfing with Tommy Fleetwood!”
