Justin Thomas is facing a nervous wait to see if he ends up being in the top 30 ahead of the Tour Championship next week.
Thomas carded solid round of four-under par to finish at plus two for the tournament at the BMW Championship.
However, it wasn’t enough to put him into the top 30 for next week and he’s currently sat in 31st as the final players play the last few holes of the day.
For Thomas, missing out on the season finale would cap a season of frustration really.
Thomas has never quite got going despite starting the season with four top 12 finishes from five starts.
Naturally, Thomas would love to be part of the action at East Lake but unlike some players, the American has refused to sit around and wait it out at Castle Pines.

Why Justin Thomas refused to stick around at Castle Pines after round four of the BMW Championship
Speaking to the media after his final round, Thomas was asked if he’d be sticking around to see how things panned out at Castle Pines.
But surprisingly, Thomas simply stated he’d be going home and effectively seeing it as a case of what will be will be.
“I’m just going home. Going to go back to Jupiter. There’s no need for me to sit here and stress this out all afternoon,” Thomas said.
“It sucks, but it’s the position I put myself in. I’m happy to go home and get a couple nights at home and then hopefully head to Atlanta on Tuesday.”
Thomas was needing a collapse of sorts from the likes of Alex Noren and Taylor Pendrith but with just a few holes to play at the time of writing, it wasn’t looking great for JT.
With a Ryder Cup year in 2025 to come, Thomas will be hoping to find more form and register a win next season.
Having won 15 times on the PGA Tour previously – including two majors – Thomas knows full well he has it in him to win.
