Justin Thomas is a winner on the PGA Tour again after three years and in adding another victory to his name, he’s now joined an exclusive seven man club alongside Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus, Rory McIlroy and more.

Thomas held off Andrew Novak in a dramatic playoff as for the second week running, one of the PGA Tour’s biggest events went to the wire.

Thomas holed out from 25 feet to secure the win and make sure he moves up to 6th in the OWGR rankings and into the top six for the Ryder Cup.

Of course, golf is a game that is full of stats and every time someone does win, there’s always a few interesting takes to go along with it.

This time, though, Justin Thomas‘ win has indeed put him in an exclusive club which he’ll be more than happy to hear about.

Justin Thomas joins exclusive seven man club with win at the RBC Heritage

It’s been a long and painful wait for Justin Thomas to get another win. Stale on the TOUR since his PGA Championship win in 2022, there have been signs all season he’s coming to form and he finally produced at Harbour Town.

However, quite impressively, Thomas is now also one of just seven players since 1960 to win 16 or more events on the PGA Tour and multiple majors, before the age of 32.

As shared by Justin Ray on X, Thomas joins Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Rory McIlroy, Tiger Woods, Johnny Miller and Tom Watson in doing so.

Given the names on that list and their legacy in golf, ‘JT’ will no doubt be delighted with himself.

Thomas now faces a big call on his caddie, after having Joe Greiner on the bag recently and having significant success.

The PGA Tour events Justin Thomas has won

It’s strange to see Justin Thomas and his good friend Jordan Spieth follow similar paths in their careers.

Both players emerged and won majors and looked on course to dominate but then both have hit a brick wall a bit and like Thomas (until yesterday), Spieth hasn’t won for years.

In terms of the tournaments won, Thomas’ resume is pretty impressive and includes some big events.

He first won in 2015, winning the CIMB Classic, before the 2016/17 season saw his best year yet with five wins, including The PGA Championship and Sony Open.

2018 saw Thomas win the World Golf Championship and Honda Classic, before he snatched the BMW Championship in 2019.

In 2020, he again won the WGC, before adding The Sentry and The CJ Cup to his resume, while in 2021 he finally got his hands on The Players.

Thomas then added his second major by winning the PGA again in 2022, before going through his barren patch and having to wait until right now to win again.
