Billy Horschel was nowhere near his best at the RBC Heritage, but he still played very solid golf indeed.

Horschel ended the week at Harbour Town Links in a tie for 27th with an eight-under par total of 276.

And average score of 69 around that golf course is always a very respectable effort.

Horschel suggested that his poor putting was the reason behind his missed cut at The Masters.

He finished 44th in the putting standings this week (PGA Tour), so a slight improvement in that department it seems.

However, Horschel is clearly still looking for more, and is trying to find those marginal gains that will get him back into the winner’s circle.

Billy Horschel’s 15-year PGA Tour wait goes on after RBC Heritage

Horschel has eight PGA Tour wins to his name, but it’s now a year to the day since his last victory in America.

That said, he did win the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth on the DP World Tour seven months ago.

The 38-year-old always seems to have a couple of really hot weeks every year, and it would be no surprise to see him win this season.

He certainly has the work ethic needed to cross the finishing line in first place – he just needs to get the flat stick firing.

Horschel took to his official X account after the tournament on Hilton Head Island, and highlighted how he’s grinding away patiently, waiting for his form to turn.

The 38-year-old also shared an unbelievable statistic.

He is still waiting for his first hole-in-one since joining the PGA Tour in 2010.

That’s quite incredible, considering how good Horschel is, and how many rounds he has played on tour.

The golfers with the most hole-in-ones in PGA Tour history

Most PGA Tour players who’ve held their cards for at least a few years have had at least one hole-in-one during their time on tour.

Some have had far more luck with aces than others though.

Hal Sutton and Robert Allenby are tied for the most hole-in-ones during official PGA Tour events, with 10 each.

Horschel is clearly desperate for just one, and you’d be a brave man to bet against him not making an ace before his time in the game is up.
