Justin Thomas was asked about LIV Golf ahead of the Players Championship this week and mentioned both Bryson DeChambeau and Phil Mickelson.
Every golf fan is fed up with hearing about the potential merger between the PGA Tour and LIV where nothing ever seems to change.
Unfortunately, the saga will continue to be front page news until the two sides finally reach an agreement over the future of the game.
Shortly after PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan addressed the media in the build-up to the Players Championship, Thomas answered questions about the subject himself.

Thomas was questioned about all things to do with the PGA Tour and LIV Golf, but the one which stood out was about the impact it’s had on the game.
The two-time PGA Champion reminded everyone that he didn’t like Mickelson or DeChambeau’s controversial exits, however, he suggested that some good things have happened since.
“I mean, there’s a handful of guys or there’s a couple guys like a Phil or a Bryson that how they went about it maybe isn’t exactly how I would have, but they did make a lot of points or say some things that were — that had some value to them or had some truth.
“But it is just how it all transpired. I obviously wish it could have just gone differently, but that’s neither here nor there, but do I think that a lot of things that have happened on our tour and in our game are because of that.
“Now, it’s hard to say it has made the game of golf better because, you know, you can take both sides. It’s like, yeah, it’s maybe done some things on Tour that have improved the Tour, but the game of golf as a whole, if it’s separated in different ways and creating some animosity, then that’s not necessarily better, and so it’s hard to say.
“You can make arguments on both sides, but there’s definitely been some good and bad on both, but I wish it obviously could have just been all good and gone on how it was somehow.”
Justin Thomas’s chances at the Players Championship assessed
Like most players, Justin Thomas’ record at the Players Championship is mixed. The obvious tick to his name is that he won in 2021.
Thomas also finished tied-3rd when Jason Day lifted the iconic trophy in 2016 and tied-11th as Webb Simpson won two years later.
The negative for Thomas is that, since winning The Players, he has not been inside the top 30 once and even missed the cut last time.
But the American is playing much better now, with three top-10s in the last few months, so he’s certainly one of the contenders at TPC Sawgrass.
