Justin Thomas has been out of action for a couple of months now, following the back surgery he underwent back in November.
Thomas said he could be forced to miss a couple of PGA Tour events at the start of the 2026 season as a result.
Now Thomas has reached the stage where he is actually able to work on his game again ahead of what will be a vitally important PGA Tour season for him.
Thomas has really struggled with his form over the past few years on the PGA Tour.
Who will win more on the PGA Tour in 2026 out of Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy and Tommy Fleetwood?
Will anyone end 2026 with more PGA Tour wins than Scottie?
His win at the RBC Heritage in April 2025 was a real outlier, but he will have huge hopes of turning things around in 2026.
Thomas’ form in the majors has been really concerning and perhaps he decided to go ahead with the back surgery in November to allow him to kind of reset ahead of the new season.
Justin Thomas provides injury update after undergoing surgery
As we all know, returning to action after undergoing back surgery, regardless of how minor it may or may not have been, is always incredibly difficult for golfers.
Tiger Woods will attest to the veracity of that statement.
So Thomas surely will have some doubts about whether he will be able to return and swing the club exactly like he once did.

The good news is that the two-time major champion appears to be healing up very well ahead of the new 2026 PGA Tour season.
Thomas took to his Instagram account on Wednesday and provided an injury recovery update for his fans.
“Feels nice to *slowly* work my way back. Happy to be back out chipping and putting,“ Thomas exclaimed.
Thomas will be desperate to get back out on the golf course.
