Justin Rose was a class act all week at The Masters and his class continued as he took to social media for the first time since losing out to Rory McIlroy.

Rose made ten birdies in his final round in what was a remarkable stretch and with McIlroy faltering, the Englishman forced an unlikely playoff.

However, Rose could not find a birdie putt, while McIlroy’s wedge shot to two feet allowed him to tap home to claim an emotional win.

Still, Rose was a brilliant loser as he hugged and congratulated McIlroy on the green and now over on social media, he’s shown his class again.

Justin Rose reacts after losing to Rory McIlroy in Masters playoff

Losing a Masters playoff is heart breaking enough – let alone it being the second time it’s happened – as is the case for Justin Rose.

Nevertheless, he remains one of golf’s real quality human beings and taking to his personal X account, Rose has now reacted.

And in typical fashion, he’s actually said it was ‘very cool’ to be with McIlroy in his winning moment.

“I gave it everything…. Congratulations @McIlroyRory on winning the @TheMasters and completing the Grand Slam.. very cool sharing the green with you in that moment… Thank you Team, as always for all the support during the week… We go again”

Roles reversed as Justin Rose suffers playoff loss again

Back in 2017, it was Justin Rose who was in the position of Rory McIlroy going into the final few holes.

Rose had a shot lead over Sergio Garcia that day with just two holes to play. However, he bogeyed the 17th before on the 18th, he saw a putt to make birdie agonisingly miss.

In the playoff, Rose then made another bogey as Garcia made birdie to win the green jacket.

At 44, Rose might not get another chance to win at Augusta National and when he does retire, these couple of putts on 18 in the playoff will no doubt play over in his mind.
