Jon Rahm will be hoping to use the home support to his advantage once more this week as he takes on the Andalucia Masters.
Rahm was frustrated at the Open de Espana last month, where he finished second after losing in a playoff to compatriot Angel Hidalgo.
The LIV Golf star went on to finish T7 at the next DP World Tour event at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in Scotland.
But Rahm is now back home for the Andalucia Masters, which gets underway at Sotogrande Golf later this week.
He is returning to the competition for the first time since 2021, with the Spaniard boasting four top tens in as many starts ahead of the event.

Jon Rahm makes ‘unusual’ Andalucia Masters claim
Rahm is ninth in the Team Europe Ryder Cup standings following the conclusion of the Open de France, and will be keen on climbing the leaderboard on home soil.
As quoted by the DP World Tour website, Rahm has previewed his next event, saying: “Sotogrande is a beautiful golf course, a classic design and it’s known all over Spain. You need wind on this golf course because otherwise it can feel a little bit short.

“We’ve had a lot of rain so the greens should be quite receptive, and you can be very aggressive with your approach play.
“If we don’t get the wind I think you can expect to see some low scores out there. It’s unusual to have four days in a row without wind so I think it will come. Last year the score wasn’t as low as everybody thought due to the wind, so maybe that can happen again.
“I’m very happy to be here. I’ve always said that the Sotogrande area for me feels like home because I used to practise here when I was an amateur to test myself in the windy conditions.
“Every time I come here it feels very special to me and I love this area. I love this golf course, and it is always in fantastic condition.”
Jon Rahm says why it takes him longer to ‘recharge’ on the DP World Tour
Low scores could be possible at Real Club de Sotogrande, with the event having previously been held at the nearby Real Club Valderrama.
Rahm will be keen on adding a new title to his honours list this week, with victory for the 10-time DP World Tour certainly on the cards.
The home crowds are likely to spur him on in Andalucia, while he will have extra motivation after coming so close to success in Madrid last month.
And Rahm is well aware of his fine record on home soil, with the LIV Golf icon adding: “It’s always a different feeling being back in Spain. I think my emotions can be heightened when playing in front of the Spanish crowds.
“Obviously, I always want to do well but when I come home it’s something that makes me want to play a little bit better and is one of the reasons I have done so well in the past. I’m looking forward to the week and hopefully I can do well again.
“These events on the DP World Tour always happen at the end of the year for me so it feels like it takes a little longer to recharge.
“I’ve been home, the kids had a full break in the United States so to have all three of them at home all week was a lot of fun. It’s a lot of work but I don’t usually get the chance to be dad for that long, so mentally it was a very nice break for me.”
