LIV Golf star Jon Rahm has revealed what his playing handicap would be if he wasn’t a professional golfer.
The Spaniard recently pulled out of the US Open at Pinehurst due to an infection in between his toes.
Rahm, however, is now back fit and firing ahead of LIV Golf’s event in Nashville. The two-time major winner will be lining up alongside Bryson DeChambeau, who has arrived in Tennessee ahead of Friday’s first round.
Despite missing out at Pinehurst, Rahm has enjoyed a positive first season on the breakaway tour. The 2023 Masters champion currently sits second in the individual standings but is still awaiting his first win.
Jon Rahm reveals playing handicap if he wasn’t professional

Speaking during a video on Grant Horvat’s YouTube channel, Rahm has revealed what his current handicap would be if he wasn’t professional.
And his answer was pretty impressive.
He explained: “This is going to come back to bite me. I haven’t checked recently, but I am either plus eight or plus nine.”
Rahm did suggest that he plays off a slightly lower handicap whenever he plays anyone.
He added: “Usually when I play anybody, I am going off of plus six because plus nine seems a little ridiculous.”
Jon Rahm now set to return from US Open injury
According to a report from Bunkered, Rahm is now set to return to action in Nashville as the Spaniard hunts his first win of 2024.
Despite his excellent form on LIV, the 29-year-old has struggled during his appearances in the major championships this year.
Rahm missed the cut at the PGA Championship and finished T45 at this year’s Masters.
Now, he will be desperate to regain fitness and make a proper charge for The Open, which gets underway at Royal Troon in the middle of July.
Before then, LIV also have an event in Andalucia in Rahm’s native Spain, which will be the final preparation for the year’s final major.
