While LIV Golf has had its critics from day one, one man who is keen to bang the drum for them is their superstar golfer, Jon Rahm.
Rahm was the big money signing just over a year ago for LIV and his move sent shockwaves through the sport at the time.
Since his arrival, Rahm has been a success in terms of him and his Legion XIII team winning golf tournaments but in the main, LIV still feels like a product many cannot access.
Despite a TV deal and an app for the action, golf fans tend to watch the PGA Tour or other golf a lot more and according to Rahm, that’s an issue that needs addressing.

Jon Rahm blames golf media for LIV Golf’s TV struggles
Jon Rahm was speaking to Joe Pompliano about LIV Golf and what he feels they’ve done better than anyone else since their existence.
And in a bit of a complaint to the media, Rahm suggested that people aren’t willing to push the positives enough when it comes to LIV.
“Having Fox and having every round be live is incredible, which is one of the main complaints I have from people – where can I watch it? Because everybody says do the app better. It’s like it’s not like it’s easily done but you can already go to LIV plus and watch every shot by every player because we all play at the same time,” Rahm said.
“The availability is there, it’s just so far I feel like obviously LIV hasn’t been given a fair chance and not all the positives from the league have been publicised like that. It is changing.
“I am interested to see what happens next year with Callaway being involved. Are the other big brands going to be like maybe we can give this a chance because at the end of the day they get to support a whole team, you get to support four players are going to be showing your product.
“If there is one thing I describe LIV as constantly it’s a massive opportunity to make something great. That is something that golf didn’t have until now. Right? Golf was following a path and it was going well but with LIV popping up it’s forcing us to evolve and change and I think whoever takes advantage of that possibility earlier would be set for quite a long time.”
LIV Golf’s TV figures compared to the PGA Tour
As it stands, there isn’t much competition when it comes to the people tuning in to the LIV events and the PGA Tour.
Despite all the money thrown at LIV, it still remains something only a niche market seems to tune into.
Indeed, LIV Adelaide was a success, averaging 114,000 viewers compared to just 19,000 for the season opener in Riyadh.
LIV does have an issue, with only 34,000 tuning in to see Joaquin Niemann win in Singapore last week as well.
Interestingly, the PGA Tour still pulls in big numbers. Last week’s Players Championship drew an average of three million viewers for the weekend, while numbers peaked during the final round at around seven million.
In fact, even the three hole playoff – with many people at work – drew a whopping 1.5m viewers as Rory McIlroy took down J.J Spaun.
As it stands, LIV Golf has a long way to go and the PGA Tour will see this year as a golden opportunity to ram home their advantage in terms of viewing figures.
