Jon Rahm claims he’s made a big change to his golf game recently which he ‘doesn’t get enough credit for’

Jon Rahm is still determined to improve his golf game despite all that he has already achieved in his career.

Rahm is a two-time major champion (2021 US Open and 2023 Masters) and a former world number one, and he’s now one of the top players on LIV Golf.

However, the Spaniard’s game has typically been extremely one-dimensional, which can cause problems on certain holes.

He has strived to change that in recent years and enjoyed some success, so he probably deserves more credit than usual.

Jon Rahm wants more credit for changing his game

Rahm is a natural fader of the golf ball. This means that his shots usually start left and then peel back around to the centre.

While there’s nothing wrong with that, it was surprising to see a world-class player so reluctant to hit a draw in certain situations.

Well, Rahm has now developed his ability to hit the ball from right to left and thinks he “doesn’t get enough credit” for his improvement.

When asked how many times he would hit a draw out of every 100 tee shots, Rahm said: “That number is changing.

“I am getting much better at the draw. If you asked me this five years ago, I would have said 99 fades and one accidental draw.

“Now there are a lot of holes where I can take advantage of it, because I do carry it further, or maybe use it with the wind. I am getting more comfortable with it.

“I would say that has been going on for the last three years. I am getting better and better. I would say now, if we’re including three wood off the tee, I would say that I am maybe getting to 30% draws.

“I don’t get enough credit for that! I know I like to hit fades, but I am getting there.”

Jon Rahm must bounce back at LIV Golf Andalucia

Rahm’s consistency since departing the PGA Tour for LIV Golf in 2023 has been absolutely remarkable.

Of course, the fields are not as strong, especially with only 54 players at every tournament, but his record really is something to behold.

Before LIV Golf Dallas last month, Rahm had finished in the top 10 at all 20 events since joining the tour, including two victories.

However, he only came 11th in Dallas, and so his top-10 streak is no longer active. This would have frustrated him, but at least he has an excellent opportunity to get back on track.

Rahm will return to his homeland (Spain) for LIV Golf Andalucia this weekend at the iconic Real Club Valderrama, where he will be among the favorites to win.
