Predictions

The Golfing Gazette writers predict who they think will walk away with the John Deere Classic title and grand cash prize:

Peter Lynch: “Fresh from his career-best tied for second at the Rocket Mortgage Classic, where he finished just one shot behind champion Cam Davis, Rai is in good shape to go one better in Illinois. His improved putting of late could be key to that success, with no issues surrounding his ball-striking. I’ll go with Aaron Rai.

Sam Stone: “Jordan Spieth really needs a win, and it could come here. After previously winning twice at TPC Deere Run, the three-time Major winner knows what’s required to get the job done. A return to the winners’ circle here would certainly be a relief. As the most decorated player in the field, let’s hope he recaptures some form.”

Jordan Harris: ‘Sungjae Im is the man to get the job done this week, with the South Korean finishing just two shots back of countryman Tom Kim and Scottie Scheffler at the Travelers Championship last month. He has five top 10s on the PGA Tour this season, so he may be able to make the most of another weaker field and secure a first win of 2024.’
