Jim Furyk is set to pick six players to join his USA Presidents Cup team, and current Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley has given him something to think about.
Bradley stunned the golfing world after producing a faultless performance at Castle Pines Golf Club to clinch the BMW Championship, the second PGA Tour playoff event.
As a result, Bradley has propelled himself into the FedEx Cup top 30 and stands a chance of landing golf’s most lucrative prize at East Lake.
Along with massively boosting his FedEx Cup aspirations, Bradley has given Furyk a decision to make ahead of next month’s Presidents Cup in Montreal.
Golf Channel pundit tells Jim Furyk to avoid Keegan Bradley selection

After the BMW Championship concluded, half of the USA team has been confirmed. Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa, Wyndham Clark, Patrick Cantlay, and Sahith Theegala are the six men already on Furyk’s team.
Bradley didn’t make the team automatically but sits just outside the qualification places. The 2025 Ryder Cup captain could now be named as a captain’s pick, but it’s something Golf Channel pundit Ryan Lavner Furyk should avoid.
“Keegan Bradley – by and large – had not done anything in three months and then pops up, says he got a swing feel in the Pro-Am and basically flushed it for the rest of the week,” Lavner told the Golf Channel Podcast.
“Personally, if I were Jim Furyk, I would pass Keegan Bradley over for a pick. I know how difficult that would be to do, and I know how awkward that would be to do because Keegan Bradley would be in that team room knowing he was passed over by Jim Furyk and the other assistant captains for one of the six wildcard picks.”
However, despite suggesting Bradley should be overlooked, Lavner fully expects the American to be selected. “I expect him to get a pick and play on this team. I would expect him at this point. It’s really hard to leave off the 11th-ranked player in the world,” he added. “I think that would be really something, particularly when you don’t have six other options playing particularly well.”
Keegan Bradley coy on Presidents Cup selection chances
Speaking immediately after his win at Castle Pines, Bradley was coy about his Presidents Cup chances.
“I’m happy to do whatever, play whatever role they want me to play,” Bradley explained. “I think being the Ryder Cup captain has put me into this category of sort of player when they haven’t really had a Ryder Cup captain that’s been playing full-time on the Tour.”
He added: “One of my goals was to make that Presidents Cup team. So we’ll see. I hope I didn’t throw a huge wrench in everybody’s plans, but I’m proud to be in consideration.”
Furyk will no doubt receive criticism regardless of the decision. However, considering that the international team hasn’t won since 1998, the USA captain will be confident that he will succeed, regardless of who he picks.
