Jason Day has been busy on the PGA Tour in 2025 so far, but he has been forced to continue his wait for a 14th title.

Day thinks the PGA Tour schedule could be decreased, having been a regular face in the initial stages of the season.

The 2015 PGA Championship winner kickstarted his 2025 PGA Tour season by finishing T40 at The Sentry, but improved to T3 at The American Express.

Day said his swing improved before The American Express, but he did fall back to T32 shortly after at the Farmers Insurance Open.

Finishes of T13 and T50 were then secured by Day at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and the Genesis Invitational respectively.

Jason Day praises ‘unbelievable’ Min Woo Lee strike in long drive competition

The Australian last won on the PGA Tour at the 2023 AT&T Byron Nelson, but for compatriot Min Woo Lee, such success has yet to be achieved.

Both players featured in the latest season of Full Swing, with Woo Lee recalling a meeting between the duo in episode five of the Netflix documentary.

“Jason Day, he’s put me under his wing actually,” said Woo Lee. “When I was 16 or 17, I had a tournament at junior invitational, and he was a guest speaker.

“We ended up having a long drive comp, and all the juniors next me were like, ‘you should do it’, because I was one of the longest out there.

“And he hit first, and he hit it, I don’t know, maybe like 280, 290 yards. And then I stepped up with his driver and smoked it. As soon as I hit it, all the boys were like, ‘ohh’, like they knew it was past his.”

Looking at the footage, Day noted: “He’s a little string bean there, but look at the power. If I did that now I’d break my back in half.

“But for him to be able to do that is just unbelievable. Look at him, he’s a little cocky there, he was walking off like high-fiving someone it looked like. But I felt that golf was moving too fast for me, watching him hit a driver.”

Jason Day thinks Min Woo Lee can become world number one

Woo Lee has been doing his utmost to emulate the success of his fellow Australian since then, but a first PGA Tour title remains elusive.

He came close with two runner-up finishes in 2024, a year in which Woo Lee and Day both represented Australia at the Olympic games.

The former finished T22 as the latter ended T9 in Paris, with Hannah Green and Woo Lee’s sister Minjee Lee also representing the nation at the event.

The close relationship between the two PGA Tour stars also came to light in Full Swing, with Woo Lee saying: “Jason’s special. If I need help with something, he’s always there.

“I want to be like him, so I still have some similarities that I’ve copied and followed him. I see a lot of myself in him, and I think he sees him and me.”

Former world number one Day meanwhile commented: “I told him you’ve got all the key attributes to become number one. You just gotta make a lifestyle change and like say this is golf, and this is serious, and this is what you’re trying to accomplish, because you definitely have the X factor stuff that you need to be the best.”
