Robert MacIntyre finally has his first PGA Tour win and the golfing world has been reacting to the news.
MacIntyre holed out on 18 for par to seal a one-shot victory and win the Canadian Open after a stunning weekend of golf capped off a fine week overall.
Playing alongside his Dad who was on the bag over the weekend, MacIntyre had an up and down final round but did enough on the 18th to leave himself a foot for par and seal the win.

Of course, MacIntyre has waited some time for this win but in fairness to him, he has got the win in his first full season of having a PGA Tour card.
The 27-year-old will now earn a PGA Tour card exemption until 2027 and that means there are tournaments to win and riches to be had along the way.

As we know, MacIntyre is a popular player as well.

Over on the social media platform X, there was plenty of messages of support for the Scot.
One of the first to sing MacIntyre’s praises was the popular US golfer, Billy Horschel.
Back in the UK, fellow Ryder Cup star Justin Rose was also rooting for MacIntyre, as he posted his message of congratulations as well.
Outside of the golf world, even world champions from boxing were getting in on the praise, as former Cruiserweight world champion Tony Bellew offered up his congrats.
While in the world of social media, the official Ryder Cup account posted their congratulations, using the video of MacIntyre after winning the Ryder Cup in celebration.

We’ve heard a lot through the week about the journey MacIntyre has been on to get to the very top and it was brilliant to see him win out with his Dad in tow.
Clearly, he is a popular man in the golfing world and these sorts of responses from the world of golf and sport show it.
Over the course of the next 24 hours, there’ll no doubt be even more of MacIntyre’s fellow golfers come out and issue their congratulations as well.
With the US Open just around the corner, the Scot has positioned himself nicely to be in contention.
