Only a few people on the planet can hit a golf ball faster and further than LIV Golf star Bryson DeChambeau.
In fact, the American’s pursuit of speed saw him bulk up around the time he won his first US Open title at Winged Foot. DeChambeau even admitted his weight gain was a mistake and potentially detrimental to his health.
Nevertheless, despite being slightly lighter, DeChambeau is still one of the game’s biggest hitters and capable of reaching ball speeds over 200mph, in line with some of the long drive champs.
DeChambeau’s stock drive is 352 yards, and he averaged 323 yards during the 2024 LIV Golf season, one yard better than Joaquin Niemann and Matthew Wolff.
Bryson DeChambeau shows off driving skills at LIV Golf Adelaide

When practicing, DeChambeau is often more focussed on the numbers on his launch monitor than he is on the outcome of his shot – and he was no different in Adelaide.
Footage shared by the 4Aces showed Patrick Reed approaching DeChambeau and eventually taking up a front-row seat for the 31-year-old’s range session.
“What you got right now,” Reed said. “199,” DeChambeau replied.
“That’s 202, but I want to do it controlled. In practice, once people get to a certain place, they’re like, ‘Okay, I got it’; what I do is maintain.”
Reed responded: “How about this, three more at that speed with the same type of shape?”
DeChambeau delivered.
“Nice tight draw, I could use that,” Reed added. “If I had that speed I would hit driver everywhere. I wouldn’t get what the hole was; I am sending it!”
Bryson DeChambeau’s long-drive performances
DeChambeau has actually taken his driving prowess into the Professional Long Drivers Association World Championship.
He made his debut in the 2021 edition in Las Vegas and reached the quarter-finals, an outcome many didn’t see coming. However, DeChambeau’s 391 drive wasn’t enough to see him progress any further. Kyle Berkshire ran out victorious after beating Justin James in the final.
| Year | Driving distance (yards) | PGA Tour rank |
| 2018 | 305.7 | 25 |
| 2019 | 302.5 | 34 |
| 2020 | 322.1 | 1 |
| 2021 | 323.7 | 1 |
However, after vowing to return bigger and better, DeChambeau finished second in 2022, with Berkshire missing through injury. German Martin Borgmeier won the 2022 PLDA World Championship after bombing a 426-yard effort.
