It’s been a whirlwind 12 months for Tyrrell Hatton. This time last year, the Englishman turned his back on the PGA Tour and joined the Saudi-backed LIV Golf League.

And, of those who joined LIV, Hatton is one of the few who has massively benefitted as a result. The 32-year-old is now one of golf’s elite and, along with Bryson DeChambeau, has improved his reputation since signing his LIV Golf contract in January 2024.

It’s not just on LIV where Hatton has impressed. He played ten DP World Tour events in 2024 and won the lucrative Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.

Clearly, it’s been a profitable few months for the Englishman during the LIV off-season – and here’s exactly how much he added to his bank account.

In 2024, Hatton made nine out of ten cuts on the DP World Tour and earned $770,000 for his win at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.

The Englishman also banked $925,000 after finishing second in the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship at Yas Links and $300,000 after ending the DP World Tour Championship inside the top ten.

In total, the 32-year-old earned $2.9m from DP World Tour events in 2024. With $1.54m added from last week’s Hero Dubai Desert Classic, Hatton has earned nearly $4.5m from DP World Tour-sanctioned events over the past 12 months.

It comes as no surprise to see Hatton’s LIV Golf earnings dwarf his DP World Tour total.

After a slow start, Hatton really found his feet on LIV during the middle part of the season and sealed his first victory in Nashville. He would go on to place second in Andalucia and narrowly miss out at JCB Country Club (T2).

The Englishman ended the LIV season with a second-place finish in Chicago before the Team Championship took centre stage in Dallas.

After finishing third in the Individual Standings, Hatton was handed a $4m bonus payout to add to the $12m he made across the season, leaving him with $16m – nearly four times what he earned on the DP World Tour.

Will Tyrrell Hatton play on the DP World Tour in 2025?

Hatton will not play another regular DP World Tour event before the Ryder Cup. However, the Englishman is currently at the top of the European qualification standings.

Hatton will feature in the major championships, however. The Masters, US Open, PGA Championship and Open Championship will give him an excellent chance to cement his position inside Luke Donald’s team and not be reliant on a captain’s pick.

Rory McIlroy, speaking on Hatton’s Ryder Cup chances, said: “He’ll be amazing in New York,” McIlroy added. “He’s proved that over the last three Ryder Cups. He’s a massive asset for the European team.”
