LIV Golf Chicago and the FedEx St. Jude Championship continued the LIV Golf and PGA Tour seasons respectively this week, both of which were highly dramatic.

Dean Burmester won LIV Golf Chicago, edging out Jon Rahm and Jose Ballester at Bolingbrook Golf Club in a playoff.

There was also an exciting playoff in the LIV Golf Chicago team event, where Stinger GC battled past Torque GC.

And remarkably the same situation played out on the PGA Tour, with Justin Rose beating J.J. Spaun in a playoff at the FedEx St. Jude Championship.

Tommy Fleetwood congratulated Rose on his success, with the former having also been in contention at TPC Southwind.

LIV Golf Chicago vs FedEx St. Jude Championship viewing figures

Both LIV Golf and the PGA Tour rapidly move on to other events this week, but their latest viewing figures have come to light before the action gets underway.

As per Sports Business Journal’s Josh Carpenter, LIV Golf Chicago drew a viewership figure of 344,000 from 12:00-3:45pm on Sunday.

That is compared to figures of 332,000 from 2:00-5:15pm on Friday and 269,000 from 1:00-3:00pm on Saturday.

The PGA Tour meanwhile boasted a huge 3.6million viewers for the FedEx St. Jude Championship on Sunday.

That impressive figure compares to totals of 2.1million for 2024, 3.2million for 2023 and 3million for 2022.

PGA Tour and LIV Golf set for further drama at BMW Championship and Indianapolis

The PGA Tour will be glad to see such viewing figures, and will hope that scenario continues this week in Maryland.

Ultimately, however, both the BMW Championship and LIV Golf Indianapolis should once again be full of drama, which is the most important issue for fans.

At Caves Valley Golf Club, a whole host of PGA Tour stars will be vying for the BMW Championship title, including world number one Scottie Scheffler.

And at The Club at Chatham Hills, all eyes will be on Torque GC captain Joaquin Niemann and Legion XIII captain Jon Rahm.

The pair are the only two players in with a chance of winning the Individual Championship, with Niemann taking a 12.27 points lead over Rahm going into the season finale.

Crushers GC captain Bryson DeChambeau meanwhile will be eager to keep his spot in third place, although he can be caught by Burmester, Talor Gooch and Patrick Reed.
