Rory McIlroy and Bryson DeChambeau will renew their US Open rivalry when they meet at The Match in Las Vegas.
McIlroy called DeChambeau a ‘great guy’ after they were paired for the first time at the 2016 Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship.
Since then, McIlroy and DeChambeau have played out many intriguing battles, primarily at the 2024 US Open.
It was the American who emerged victorious at Pinehurst, edging out the Northern Irishman by one shot to lift the trophy.
Another exciting battle is now set to take place between the duo and Scottie Scheffler and Brooks Koepka.

The Match has a purse of over $10million, with four of the game’s leading players facing off this time next week.
Plenty of intriguing storylines will be at play, including the ongoing standoff between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf.
The latter has now teased another ahead of the Match, with LIV Golf sharing the stock yardages for DeChambeau and McIlroy.

And it is the former who predominantly leads the way, with DeChambeau averaging 343 yards with his driver compared to the 325 of McIlroy.
The US Open champion’s three-wood average meanwhile sits at 300, compared to McIlroy’s three-wood total of 295.
Northern Irish star McIlroy does, however, hit his 60 degree wedge further at 105 yards compared to DeChambeau’s 102.
What will fans want to see from The Match involving Scottie Scheffler and Bryson DeChambeau?
Both DeChambeau and McIlroy will be aiming to show their full range of skills during the match, with their driving set to come under the spotlight in particular.
Both are huge hitters off the tee, with their driving power more often than not matches with precision, although that wasn’t always the case at Pinehurst.

The presence of Scheffler and Koepka meanwhile simply adds further gloss to the competition, with the former having just enjoyed an unforgettable season.
