Dustin Johnson and Brooks Koepka were two of the first big names to leave the PGA Tour to join LIV Golf back in 2022.
However, while Johnson is loving life with the Saudi-backed outfit, Koepka clearly wasn’t happy, and left LIV Golf in December 2025.
It was only two weeks ago when Koepka was reinstated as a PGA Tour member.
Losing the five-time major champion to the PGA Tour was a big blow for LIV Golf to stomach, and their off-season so far has been underwhelming to say the least concerning the new signings they’ve made.
Which LIV Golf youngster do you think is going to have the best career?
The likes of Michael La Sasso, Josele Ballester, David Puig and Tom McKibbin undoubtedly have incredible potential!
Johnson has been speaking about LIV Golf keeping hold of Bryson DeChambeau this week out in Dubai.
The 2020 Masters champion seems to be supremely content on LIV, but did Koepka leaving adversely affect him?
Dustin Johnson on Brooks Koepka leaving LIV Golf to rejoin the PGA Tour
Johnson is nothing if he’s not honest.
So who better to ask about Koepka’s recent LIV exit than the man from Columbia, South Carolina.
Johnson has been very close with Koepka throughout his career and he knows the five-time major winner better than most.
When speaking to Today’s Golfer, Johnson responded when asked about how he really felt when he found out Koepka had left LIV Golf.

“Look, Brooks is doing whatever he thinks is best for him. I haven’t really talked to him that much – seen him back home at practice, we played a little bit.
“Just haven’t talked about why or what he did it for. I can’t really comment on him. You’d have to ask him that.
“I don’t really care one way or the other. Brooks can do whatever he thinks is best. Whether he plays on LIV or anywhere else, happy for him. Doesn’t matter. Doesn’t hurt us or not hurt us, I don’t think.”
Will LIV still be around in 2030?
Unlike what Johnson seems to think, it’s fair to argue that Koepka’s exit from LIV will be damaging to the Saudi-backed league.
However, the final and very much catastrophic blow for LIV will be if Bryson DeChambeau and / or Jon Rahm ever decide to leave to rejoin the PGA Tour.
Who can LIV Golf sign to save their offseason?
The PGA Tour easily absorbed the numerous high-profile exits from 2022 to early 2024.
And they are now in a real position of strength.
The PGA Tour clearly have a better product on offer than LIV Golf, and the viewing figures prove that.
The key for LIV Golf now will be to throw a punch back at the PGA Tour by making a statement signing. Whether or not they are able to do that remains to be seen, though.
