Dustin Johnson and Bryson DeChambeau were two of the biggest names to swap the PGA Tour for LIV Golf back in 2022.

DeChambeau has had far more success than Johnson in the majors since joining LIV Golf, and the 2024 US Open champion is one of the few golfers who has actually improved since joining the Saudi-backed outfit.

After Brooks Koepka returned to the PGA Tour, reports have suggested that DeChambeau is demanding $500 million from LIV Golf in order to extend his contract.

Whether the PIF-backed league agrees to those terms remains to be seen.

The year is 2030, where will Bryson DeChambeau be?

LIV Golf, the PGA Tour or on YouTube permanently…

I mean, look, it’s confidential. I’m not going to share too much, but the conversations are in process. We have to get to a place where both parties have a good understanding of one another. It is getting to a place that makes sense for both sides, and I think that can happen, but you never know.

Bryson DeChambeau on new contract talks with LIV

Someone who will be staying on LIV for quite some time yet is Dustin Johnson.

Johnson believes that his golf is trending in the right direction and he’ll be hoping to see some positive results over the next few months.

However, will DeChambeau be playing alongside him on LIV Golf?

Johnson clearly spends plenty of time alongside DeChambeau throughout the season.

So who better to ask about DeChambeau’s future than the two-time major champion?

When speaking to Today’s Golfer, Johnson was asked whether he believes that DeChambeau will remain with LIV Golf.

“Bryson obviously brings big crowds and he’s got a lot of fans. I can’t speak for him. I don’t see him going anywhere. I think he’s happy and he really likes LIV.

But you need to talk to him on that one. As far as I know, he’s very happy, and he’s really enjoying playing on LIV.”

LIV Golf fans will be hoping that DJ is correct with his comments there.

It’s hard to envisage any kind of future for LIV without Bryson DeChambeau.

Would Dustin Johnson like to play any PGA Tour events?

Johnson is clearly very content playing on LIV right now.

However, if there were to ever be a merger between the two tours, would he play in any PGA Tour events?

Should Bryson DeChambeau leave LIV Golf in 2026?

Johnson responded when asked if he sees himself playing on the PGA Tour at any point in the future.

“I’m happy playing right where I’m at. Would I play a couple events on tour? Sure, there are a few events that I like.

But I like playing LIV and I like playing around the world and I’m very happy playing right where I’m at. It’s only getting better. We’re going to continue to grow, and the fields keep getting better, too.”

As things stand, it’s highly unlikely that any kind of merger will be struck between the two tours.

And with Johnson seemingly loving life on LIV, it’s safe to assume that the remainder of his golfing career will be spent with the Saudi-backed outfit.
