Harris English is all set for his seventh start at The Masters, where he is out in the final group for round one.
Aside from his cut at The Players Championship, English has performed consistently around the T25 position in his eight PGA Tour starts this season.
But his attitude towards the 13th hole at Augusta National hasn’t been so consistent, with the American having made quite the U-turn.
The final piece of the iconic Amen Corner at The Masters, the par-5 Azalea follows the par-4 11th and the par-3 12th.
It underwent a major revamp in 2023, with the tee sitting eight feet higher than before, and with 35 yards added to the hole.

Harris English now loves hole 13 at Augusta National
Sharing his verdict on the layout, Dan Rapaport said on Dan on Golf: “I am not a huge fan of what they did to 13.
“I like seeing guys go for it all the time. We have seen a lot of layups and I like seeing people go for it. What are your thoughts?”
Replying, English said: “I was with you before I played it. I was like they don’t need to move that tee back. I can see why they did it.
“You saw Bubba Watson hitting wedge or nine iron in there. Rory [McIlroy] and Bryson [DeChambeau] can get it and have such an advantage on that hole.
“For me it was between a driver and a three wood from the tee further up, you have to draw it off that tee.
“I think it makes the decision even better of thinking I have 220 front. Four iron, or do I lay up to a wedge number?
“I was with you when they moved the tee back but now I have changed my stance and that’s my favourite hole on the golf course.”

What is Harris English’s record at The Masters?
Now 545 yards on the scorecard, and the potential for players to drive over the left corner of the dogleg has certainly been reduced.
It will be intriguing to see how it plays this week, where English is looking to improve upon his best finish of T12 last year.

The five-time PGA Tour winner has made five cuts from his six starts at The Masters, with a low round of 68 and a scoring average of 73.05.
English may just be able to continue his major momentum from his last such appearance, when he finished second to Scottie Scheffler at The Open Championship in 2025.
The 36-year-old must wait patiently to get underway in the first round this year, where he’s paired with Marco Penge and Si Woo Kim.
