Tyrrell Hatton has been speaking about potentially moving over to LIV Golf over in Dubai.

Hatton, a six-time European tour winner and a one-time PGA Tour winner, is one of the names who has been mentioned as being a player the LIV tour could target.

Jon Rahm’s recent move to LIV seems to have opened the floodgates a bit and softened the stance of a number of top players, including Rory McIlroy.

However, when questioned about a move to LIV while playing in the Dubai Desert Classic, Hatton has suggested that, for now at least, he’s staying put.

Tyrrell Hatton discusses potential move to LIV Golf

Speaking about if he’s had talks or not with LIV, Hatton was pretty open and suggested a number of top players had had those chats.

“I’d say there’s several people who have had conversations. I think that’s part and parcel of golf at the moment, but I’m quite happy playing the PGA Tour and DP World Tour,” Hatton said.

“I’ve just said that [he’s had conversations with LIV]. There’s a lot of people who have and I don’t think there is anything to shy away from.”

When pressed for an answer on if he is staying with the PGA and DP Tour for now, Hatton quipped:

“As of right now, yeah.”

Hatton will be watching with interest

As good as Tyrrell Hatton is and the potential he has to win big tournaments, he’s not normally one of the names who rolls off the tongue when you think of the world’s best golf superstars.

With that in mind, he might well think a move to LIV on guaranteed money is something he simply cannot turn down.

However, like most golfers, he is ambitious and wants to win the best tournaments and he’ll be half-thinking that moving to LIV scuppers those chances.

On the flipside, with a deal potentially getting close, moving to LIV now might be the best time possible to cash in.

Hatton, then, might well be mentioned again as the months tumble on.
