Greg Norman has claimed Bubba Watson is a man under pressure after watching him during the first round of LIV Golf UK.
The two-time Masters winner Watson has struggled during the 2024 season and currently sits 50th in the individual standings, inside the drop zone.
As a result, the outlandish lefty faces the real possibility of losing his spot for the 2025 season after previously becoming one of the league’s biggest signings in 2023.
Watson is battling to improve his position at LIV Golf UK, and Norman has spoken out about the 45-year-old’s struggles.

Speaking briefly on Friday, Norman explained that there are several players wanting to play in the league who aren’t currently involved.
“We knew that we had to create this pathway of opportunity for the next generation,” said Norman. “And there are players out there with FOMO right now. They want to get in. So the players who are in, know that there’s that FOMO wanting to get in, and they don’t want to get out.”
The Shark added: “I see the intensity on the driving ranges. Each and every day, practice round, first round, even this morning, you can see it elevating.”
Norman then went on to highlight Watson’s fragile position at the foot of the table.
The Aussie said: “Then you look at the players that are in that zone; they know they’re in that zone, the relegation zone. Bubba Watson, for example, I watched Bubba on TV all day yesterday. You can see his face going up and down, so you don’t think he’s under pressure. Damn right, he’s under pressure.”
The LIV Golf CEO has previously suggested he’s held talks with a current PGA Tour star over a move to the breakaway league, which could spell bad news for the likes of Watson.
Bubba Watson faces battle to save LIV Golf career
There were question marks over Watson’s 2024 participation before the turn of the year.
However, after making the roster, the two-time major winner was handed a lifeline.
But, as the results indicate, Watson’s form this season hasn’t been up to scratch and is a long way from the brilliance the golfing world witnessed back in 2012.
Watson currently sits T33 at LIV Golf UK and is on course for another sub-par finish. Unless he dramatically improves, the 45-year-old could be the highest-profile player to lose his spot in the breakaway league.
