Golf fans rip into ‘so unlikeable’ Jon Rahm after what he did at LIV UK this weekend

The LIV Golf event in the UK this weekend has certainly had some fireworks so far but Jon Rahm is not coming out of it all looking good.

Rahm is the poster boy of LIV Golf after he signed a huge contract worth around £400m to go and play as part of the Legion XII team.

The Spaniard has, in fairness, played reasonably well during the 2024 LIV season and while he’s been off the pace in the majors, he remains a big star.

However, Rahm’s reputation among some has already been tarnished since that move to LIV, with many claiming he went purely for money reasons – something Rahm has admitted was a driving factor.

Of course, coming to the UK this week, Rahm would have been hopeful of being one of the main players the crowds were cheering for.

But yesterday, things appeared to take a turn for the worse as when stood over a shot on the 16th, Rahm was heckled and jibed at by a number of fans.

So much so, that Rahm couldn’t help himself but react and he basically stared down an onlooker, before then walking off and slamming his club into the rough – much to the delight of said onlookers, it must be said.

Rahm’s reaction has gathered quite the response on social media and as usual with this sort of thing, the golf fans around the world are not letting Rahm live this one down.

Of course, scouring social media can lead to all sorts of comments being found about Rahm.

However, it does very much seem his reaction here has opened the door for the the lions to feast.

One fan labelled Rahm as ‘so unlikeable’ after his reaction:

While another suggested Rahm’s career had basically ended when he took the LIV move.

@Scopedarrogance continued the theme, suggesting Rahm is one of the players who must regret moving to LIV.

While another fan carried on the use of the term ‘unlikeable’ when watching Rahm.

Things didn’t get much better either as we scrolled further down the comments, with someone else labelling Rahm as a ‘sell out’.

While another was seemingly happy to see Rahm getting so worked up.
