Justin Thomas produced a sparkling round of golf in round three of the Hero World Challenge and he’s left golf fans seriously impressed by one moment in particular.

Thomas struggled throughout 2024 but is looking to get back to form in 2025 and get himself back in contention to win more majors.

The popular American will want a big year to make a push for Keegan Bradley’s Ryder Cup team and at the Hero World Challenge, he’s right in the mix to score some early momentum.

Thomas shot an impressive six-under par third round to put himself alongside Scottie Scheffler at the top of the leaderboard.

Thomas produced some impressive shots throughout the round and made some big putts, including one putt from more than 40 feet to take the lead with a few to play.

However, while Thomas’ work on the greens was impressive, it was his work in getting to those greens that caught the eye.

And in particular, a miraculous tee shot on the par four seventh that found the putting surface.

Golf fans impressed by Justin Thomas as he drives the green at the Hero World Challenge

Any player driving the green on a par four is bound to catch the eye and that’s just what Thomas did on the seventh in Albany.

Big ‘bombs’ from the tee on par fours are what a lot of casual golf fans love to see and over on X, there was plenty of celebration for the effort from Thomas.

In particular, fans seemed impressed by not only this drive, but Thomas’ play with the big stick overall.

Another fan to be impressed by Thomas was @CraigMedec65389, who lauded the effort as ‘insane’.

“Insane shot by JT.”

While another fan, @Dibsgolf, branded the shot from Thomas as a ‘bomb’.

“That’s a bomb”

Going further with the praise, @bogeysallday7 predicted a big 2025 for Thomas if he carries on.

“Justin Thomas is absolutely dialed in, 2025 is going to be big if he keeps this up. #heroworldchallenge

While @tucan_sam23 suggested similar, claiming Thomas is now ‘back’.

“Justin Thomas is soooooo back”

Can Justin Thomas beat Scottie Scheffler?

It’s a pretty remarkable turnaround from Thomas to get ahead of Scottie Scheffler going into the final day in Albany.

Scheffler was clear and away after round two but it just goes to show that every top player on the PGA Tour is capable of a big round.

Thomas spoke of his surprise at Scheffler only going eight under and now it looks like Scheffler’s inability to go lower could cost him.

For Thomas, winning the Hero would be the ideal start to the 2025 campaign for him and prove to both himself and any doubters he has that he can very much still be a contender.
