While November might not be the biggest time of year for golf as a sport, there was no lack of drama on the PGA Tour this weekend as the fall season came to a close with an intriguing side story for Joel Dahmen.
With the top 125 earning their PGA Tour cards for 2025, the pressure was on for a number of players heading into the event Sea Island.
In the end, it was Maverick McNealy who came out on top with an emotional win but while McNealy’s story was admirable, it was the story of Joel Dahmen that was capturing the eye of the average golfer.
Dahmen came into the event just outside of the cut line of the top 125 but managed to put himself in contention to sneak with some excellent golf over the last few days.
In round four, Dahmen produced the round of his life to produce a final round of six under par and in doing so, ensure he finished just inside that 125 line.

Dahmen holed a crucial putt for par from six feet on the last to finish in a tie for 35th and do enough.
However, in what is becoming a bad habit for the powers that be in the TV world, few fans got the chance to actually see Dahmen come home and seal his place.
And over on social media, fans made their feelings more than known to the TV operators.
Golf fans frustrated as Joel Dahmen seals his place on the PGA Tour for 2025
Dahmen is one of the most popular players out on the TOUR and not having him there for 2025 would feel like a miss.
Thankfully, Dahmen has made it but just like last week when golf fans fumed at the coverage of Wesley Bryan, fans were far from impressed with not being able to follow Dahmen home.
Another fan, @Chrisjamesmonty, also fumed at the lack of coverage and suggested the TOUR was missing a trick.
“SHOW IT ON TV!!! This is specifically the point of the fall series!!! This is the drama this time of year is about.”
While @goleeds also echoed that same sentiment.
“Hello I’d like to watch this on TV..ya know..what you’re advertising here”
Going further with the criticism, @triplea_19 called the the coverage a ‘disgrace’.
“Not a single camera? For a guy who needs 125 to keep his card? Disgraceful”
The critics continued on more, as one fan suggested fans weren’t getting what they paid for.
This very much seems like a big problem for the PGA Tour and the media companies they partner with for coverage.
One of the big plus points of LIV Golf has been the ability for fans to see almost every shot if they choose.
The PGA, then, needs to invest in this a bit more and ensure fans have the best experience going.
