Scottie Scheffler has given his bank account a fairly significant boost after a simply stunning 2024 season to date.

The American has won six times on the PGA Tour, including picking up his second green jacket at Augusta National in April.

Furthermore, the 28-year-old claimed Olympic gold at Le Golf National on Sunday. Despite all his success this year, Scheffler looked visibly emotional when receiving his gold at the 2018 Ryder Cup venue.

High-profile journalist Dan Rapaport has now crunched the numbers and confirmed that Scheffler has earned $36,148,691 since the beginning of the year.

Golf fans have since reacted to Rapaport’s social media post, and the same suggestion about LIV Golf has continually emerged.

Golf fans highlight LIV Golf fact after learning Scottie Scheffler’s 2024 earnings

Scheffler’s earnings are staggering from a normal fan’s perspective. Yet, the world number one’s $36 million is nothing when compared to the money LIV Golf paid players to simply turn up to breakaway league events.

Fans were quick to highlight the LIV comparison on X.

“Imagine all he has to do to make that much,” wrote one fan. That is probably a lower-end LIV offer for a mediocre player on the PGA.” Another added, “Amazing! It’s almost 1/5 of what he’d get on LIV. Cool stuff.”

This fan asked, “How much would he have earned on LIV for a full year?” Another said, “How is he going to make any money if he doesn’t go to LIV?”

Finally, this fan said: “You have to admit, without LIV, these numbers don’t exist. The PGA Tour darlings can say what they want about LIV, but in the end, it significantly benefits them whether they stay or move across the aisle for the new league.”

Scottie Scheffler’s $36million looks insignificant to Jon Rahm’s LIV Golf offer

Scheffler has had the season of his life and played some of the best golf seen in decades, and yet, the American has earned a fraction of what Jon Rahm was offered before the Spaniard sealed blockbuster PGA Tour exit.

Rahm was offered $571 million to sign for LIV without playing an event. For simply turning up to the season opener, Rahm earned 15x what Scheffler has during his historic PGA Tour season.

Before the two-time major winner joined the breakaway league, Phil Mickelson was LIV’s highest earner, having been offered $200 million to sign.

Scheffler’s season earnings are just another stark reminder of the PGA Tour’s current issues as merger talks continue with the Public Investment Fund.
