Golf fans are all saying the same thing after Scottie Scheffler’s actions on day one at the Presidents Cup

Day one of the Presidents Cup is done and dusted and it is Team USA who are dominating after a back and forth day up in Canada.

Team USA effectively have a hand on the trophy already with the foursomes to come in the next two days and it will be the miracle of all miracles if the Internationals come back.

Of course, while some of the golf on display was superb, the day was nearly overshadowed by some major needle between Scottie Scheffler and Tom Kim.

Scheffler and Kim were at each other in the opening few holes with some back and forth and then things threatened to boil over when Kim and Sungjae Im stormed to the next tee before Scheffler even had chance to putt out.

Scheffler did brush his run-in with Kim off at the end of his round, which he won 3&2 with Russell Henley.

However, over on social media, this sort of stuff never gets ignored and there’s been a huge amount of reaction to Scheffler and Kim’s actions.

Over on social media platform X, golf fans were lapping it up as Scheffler and Kim went at it.

But in the main, it was the American fans who were absolutely loving what they were seeing from the usually reserved Scheffler.

The love for Scheffler continued as well, as @colinjohnlester also picked up on him showing a bit of passion.

“Scottie Scheffler showing a bit of passion in match play is brilliant”

@DaveconnellySG was also surprised by Scheffler.

“Scheffler screaming right back at Tom Kim! Holy smokes”

Another fan commented on both players, with @BrandonBSports suggesting it was all gamesmanship between the pair.

While in more praise for Scheffler, @blajoieuri suggested it was one of the best moments of Scheffler’s on-course career so far.

With Team USA running wild and winning all five games on day one, Kim’s efforts to get the Internationals up for it fell flat it seemed.

Kim had initially riled Wayne Riley by being a bit over the top on the opening tee box and now going into tomorrow, Kim will want to focus on simply getting the win, rather than anything else.
