Tiger Woods remains the biggest name in golf and anytime he makes an announcement, it’s going to cause a stir in the golfing world.
Despite a host of happenings this weekend, including the Solheim Cup, the LIV Chicago Event and the Irish Open, it was an announcement from Woods that caused the biggest stir.
Yesterday, Woods announced that he has once again gone under the knife to have yet more surgery on his troublesome back.
Reports have suggested Woods will be back in time for the TGL launch in January.
However, it once again means Woods is putting his body through the ringer and with that, it means another bout of rehab and trying to come back to golf.

As we know, Woods is a fighter and he’ll be keen to ensure he is there, fit and ready, to make a go of it in the 2025 season.
But over on social media, there seems to be a realisation setting in around Tiger when it comes to golf fans.

As we know, social media can be quite the platform for over the top reactions.
And while some have suggested Tiger might make a roaring comeback – more in hope than anything – some believe this could finish him off.
One fan suggested Tiger simply call it a day.
While another also followed a similar thought process on Tiger hanging up the clubs for good.
Another Tiger fan, @Hiotis4life, suggested the time has come for Tiger to step into the commentary booth.
“God help Tiger – he should now move to the TV booth or buy a local nursing home”
@Therealtucker went another route, suggesting Woods has made a mistake in fusing his back in the first place.
“Unfortunately tiger absolutely ruined his body by fusing his back dude has more money then god and the best he could do is fuse his back he could have done so much more then just that. Crazy to me”
Another fan, @Chezz0701 suggested Tiger is finished as an elite golfer, and called on his own experience.
“Tiger is finished as an elite golfer… Im speaking through experience. My surgeon says its a miracle Tiger Woods could ever come back to elite level after having fusion surgery years earlier.”
While @colenmike52397 insisted that the time has come for Tiger to play the Senior Tour.
“Tiger needs to play the Senior tour, his days on the regular tour playing competitively are over.”
As we know, Colin Montgomerie called on Tiger to retire last year and that was met with disdain from the 15-time major winner.
However, Montgomerie might have a point and if this back surgery hasn’t worked, the time might well have come.
