Dustin Johnson remains some way off his very best golf, having once reached number one in the world rankings.

Johnson struggled early at LIV Golf Chicago, where he eventually finished T25 as Dean Burmester lifted the trophy.

The two-time major champion now turns his focus to LIV Golf Indianapolis, the last event of the LIV Golf individual season.

Captain of the 4Aces GC team, Johnson enters the tournament sitting 28th place in the individual standings.

The American was also a regular in the 2025 major championship season, but won’t exactly have fond memories from his four appearances.

He missed the cut at The Masters, the PGA Championship and the US Open before recovering to finish T23 at The Open Championship.

His attitude towards his profession has now emerged, with Johnson responding after being asked by Golf if he actually loves the sport: “I think so.

“As far as I can remember. I still love it. I still enjoy the grind. Lately it’s been a little more frustrating than I would like it to be, but it’s just golf.

“I feel like my game is really close to being good and a lot of times throughout my career I have struggled.

“But for me it’s always been really, sometimes it takes one swing or one shot or one round where everything flips and it goes the other way.”

How has Dustin Johnson performed on LIV Golf ahead of season finale?

Johnson can undoubtedly be proud of his achievements on the course over the years, which include 24 wins on the PGA Tour.

He has certainly suffered a drop in form since his peak, but hope remains that he can still return to the golfer that he once was.

His very best was on display at the US Open in 2016 and The Masters in 2020, which he won at Oakmont and Augusta National respectively.

A three-shot win was secured over Jim Furyk, Shane Lowry and Scott Piercy at the former, before his five-shot victory over Im Sung-jae and Cameron Smith at the latter.

Johnson did, of course, immediately impress upon his move to LIV Golf from the PGA Tour, winning the 2022 LIV Golf Invitational Series.

Another success is, however, off the cards this time around, with only Joaquin Niemann and Jon Rahm able to win the 2025 individual title.
