DP World Communications Officer Daniel Van Otterdijk has admitted that three LIV Golf players are desperately missed on the PGA Tour.
Since the league’s inception in 2022, no LIV Golf players have featured on the US-based circuit. The DP World Tour, however, has seen breakaway league players regularly return.
Patrick Reed has been a mainstay of DP World Tour events in a bid to improve his world ranking, and 14 LIV Golf players played at the Aldred Dunhill Links Championship.
With talks between the PIF and PGA Tour rumbling on, Van Otterdijk has named three LIV players whose presence is missed.

Speaking to Gulf News, Van Otterdijk admitted the best players playing together is a scenario most want.
“Ultimately, what you want is to see the best players playing the best tournaments,” said the DP World Tour chief.
“As a fan, you miss a Bryson DeChambeau, a Jon Rahm, a Patrick Reed – you do miss those guys. Whether you like the format of LIV Golf or not, it doesn’t really matter. You want the best players in the best tournaments, whatever the tournaments are.”
He continued: “I don’t think anybody in golf wants to see this current political situation where players get penalised or can’t play here, there, or whatever.
“All that is no good for the game and no good for fans. And do remember, these players get paid to play because fans come and watch them.”
Daniel Van Otterdijk makes LIV-PGA Tour prediction
Van Otterdijk went on to suggest an agreement between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf could well materialise in the next six months.
“We’re confident that within the next six months, they’ll come up with a structure that befits world golf in a much better way than what we currently have. But, of course, there are legacy issues to sort out,” he added.
However, after Jay Monahan claimed 2026 could be the end date, it’s difficult to know who to believe on the matter.
Clearly, everyone involved in the professional game is aware that ending the current divide is the only way forward.
PGA Tour players are coming around to the idea of LIV players one day returning, and the sooner a clear path is laid out, the better.
