President Donald Trump and Gary Player regularly play golf together and both men absolutely adore the sport.
Trump is an avid golfer and claims he has won 38 Club Championships during his time.
Meanwhile, Player is one of the greatest golfers to have ever graced the game, with 159 worldwide wins including nine major championships.
The legendary South African often speaks his mind about his general annoyance with the modern-day game.

Player ripped into the Ryder Cup recently, labeling some of the behavior seen at Bethpage Black as ‘disgusting’.
However, his love for the game of golf will never diminish. He still plays golf regularly, with his 90th birthday now only four days away.
Donald Trump reveals what Gary Player shot when they last played together
Three years ago when he was 86, Player was still producing 88 mph clubhead speeds.
The physical condition he has managed to keep himself in really is mightily impressive, but what kind of scores is he capable of shooting now, with his 90th birthday on the horizon?
Who better to ask than his good friend President Trump?
Speaking to reporters before boarding Air Force 1, Trump responded when asked about the current state of his golf game.

The President said: “I have become a very good chipper. I hit them all pretty good, I’m a pretty good golfer. I have won 38 Club. Championships, that’s pretty good. I’m very solid, very consistent, pretty long, I hit the ball pretty long. Putting is pretty good, putting used to be the best but I would say putting is pretty good.“
President Trump then opened up on a recent round he played alongside Gary Player.
He said: “I play with Gary Player. You know Gary’s 90 and he shot 70 with me the last time we played, which is pretty amazing from 6,800 (yards).“
Average driving distance by age groups after Trump’s claim about Player
On a 6,800 yard golf course, 89-year-old Player would have had to putt lights out in order to shoot 70, that’s all I will say on the matter.
Here are the average distances that different age groups hit their drivers, via Shot Scope.
| Age range | Average handicap | Average driving distance |
| 20-29 | 13.7 | 243 yards |
| 30-39 | 14.7 | 241 yards |
| 40-49 | 13.7 | 232 yards |
| 50-59 | 13.5 | 224 yards |
| 60-69 | 14.7 | 212 yards |
| 70+ | 15.8 | 196 yards |
Considering the fact that Gary Player will be 90 in a few days’ time, if he’s averaging anywhere near 200 yards off the tee it would be hugely impressive.
He was obviously an elite golfer in his day but the South African apparently shooting 70 just before his 90th birthday, on a 6,800 yard golf course no less, really is quite something.
