Collin Morikawa is among the players in contention at the Scottish Open heading into what’s set to be a blockbuster weekend.
Calm conditions in Scotland have made the Renaissance Club very gettable and a number of players have seized the moment.
Ludvig Aberg is the man in the clubhouse with the lead at -12 but a host of players are hot on his heels going into round three tomorrow.
One of those players is Collin Morikawa, who carded a four-under 66 in his second round to sit on nine under overall.
However, much like every professional in the world, Morikawa was not completely satisfied with how things went out on the course.

Collin Morikawa disappointed with one aspect of his second round at the Scottish Open
When asked to rate his second round out of ten, Morikawa gave himself a harsh 5/10, admitting one aspect of his game was really poor.
“Five. I drove it really bad. I mean I got a lot out of it, I made some putts.
“Made some nice putts but made it a little too stressful today,” Morikawa said.
Morikawa’s high standards could lead him to glory
All the best players in the world are never happy with their performance, unless it’s absolute perfection.
Morikawa is one of the best golfers in the world and the fact he’s giving himself a five out of ten for shooting four-under par shows just what level of expectation he has on himself.
However, at nine under going into the weekend, Morikawa is very much in contention.
Morikawa has won on British soil before when taking The Open in 2021 and on current form, he’s heading towards Royal Troon next week as one of the favourites.
Certainly, among all the players on tour right now, Morikawa is hitting form at the right time and it would be little surprise to see him come close this weekend and next.
